Entering December, BPR Lestari Bali is back with the #MakeAnImpact program, Lestari for Kids, which is routinely carried out every 2 months to provide 8 tons of rice to children in 40 orphanages and BPR Lestari fostered homes.
In the framework of International Disability Day, BPR Lestari Bali introduced one of 40 fostered orphanages, namely the SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan. If you glance from the outside, this building just looks like a school in general. But apparently, every corner is used as an area to hone the skills of students there. If you look to the part of the building on the backside, you will see a dormitory building that is inhabited by approximately 25 children.
"The total number of students here is around 162 students. The learning system is divided into 4 classes. Class A for the Blind, class B for the Deaf, class C for the Mentally Disability, and class D for the Physically Disability. We provide 4 classes from elementary to high school, "said Mr. I Gede Sukaca, S.Pd when met in the principal's office.
With the status of a public school, the students here do not pay school fees. Even those living in dormitories also receive government assistance of 21,000 per person per effective day. That is, if the day off work, shared leave and red dates then do not get dependents. "We are very grateful for the help of routine rice distributes from BPR Lestari Bali. So, even on holidays, we can still provide provisions for our children, "said the Principal, who is familiarly called Pak De. Most of the children living in the dormitory are children who do not have parents or do not want to go home because they are not taken care of by their uncle or aunt.
Mr. Gede admitted that one of the biggest burdens to manage SLB is to make students here have their own skills, so they can immediately work after graduating from high school. SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan is a pilot project SLB which has many units of activities, namely 12 units such as culinary art, brick making, screen printing, sewing, and many more.
Until now, there have been many SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan graduates who have successfully worked in various fields of business. Recently, five (5) alumnies successfully worked in one of the leading restaurants in the Badung Regency. With all the limitations they have, they are still able to compete and have the added value of working in a good place. "We hope to always be able to support the needs and positive activities of our fostered orphanages, especially SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan. Through this International Disability Day, we are invited not to build walls of difference and help disabled friends to be able to move forward and have a decent life "said Luh Ayu Silviananda, Corporate Secretary Manager of BPR Lestari Bali. BPR Lestari believes that by getting good nutrition, our fostered children are able to excel in their schools, so they can achieve their dreams for a better life. "Once again Happy International Disability Day. Hopefully, our #MakeAnImpact mission through the Lestari for Kids program can be well received by all of our fostered orphanages scattered throughout Bali, "concluded Ayu.
